A window resists a break-in through three things working together: hardware with anti-lift locking points, laminated glass that is hard to break through and a lockable handle. Resistance class RC2, defined by European standard EN 1627, means the complete window has been tested against an opportunist burglar using simple tools.

The installation itself usually takes one to two days for a house. Before that come the measurement visit, the quote, any Klimabonus and 3% VAT applications, which must be made before the work starts, and then made-to-measure manufacturing. The total time depends mostly on manufacturing and the paperwork.

Replacing old wooden windows with uPVC or aluminium clearly improves insulation and puts an end to regular repainting. If you want to keep the look of wood, woodgrain finishes are available. Whether the new window goes onto the old frame or the frame is removed completely is decided at the measurement visit, depending on its condition.
Read the guideIt depends on the size, profile, glazing, colour, options and type of installation. Every window is made to measure: we give a fixed, detailed price after a free measurement visit.
uPVC insulates very well and needs little upkeep. Aluminium allows slimmer frames and larger glass areas. The right choice depends on the façade, the sizes and the look you want.
Triple glazing keeps the cold out better and reduces condensation. It is also the highly insulating glazing required for Klimabonus. Double glazing is lighter and suits some renovations.
When you feel draughts, when mist appears between the panes, when frames are damaged or windows close badly. Single glazing or old double glazing are also good signs.
Inside, moisture in the air settles on cold glass. Airing helps, and a better insulated window reduces it a lot. Mist between the panes means the sealed unit has failed.
Klimabonus supports replacement with highly insulating windows, under conditions, and VAT can drop to 3% when renovating a home. Both applications are made before work starts.
Windows with triple glazing, a good profile and an airtight installation. The Uw value sums up the performance of the whole window: the lower it is, the better it insulates.
